NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home
This Course is split into two parts basic and advanced. The basic first part is a minimum of 9 hours that is split between the classroom and range. Students will learn the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. While on the range students should be prepared to shoot a minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition over several hours. After successfully completing level one students may chose to continue to the advanced part of the course. the advanced level students will spend a minimum of five additional hours on the range and fire a minimum of an additional 115 rounds of ammunition. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure and the appropriate Course Completion Certificates(s), NRA Basic Personal Protection Outside The Home (identifies strong-side hip holster or purse use) Certificate, and NRA Advanced Personal Protection Outside The Home Certificate.
* The NRA Basic Pistol Course is recommended before taking this course.
** All State CCW Laws Apply to this course and must be followed for carrying a concealed firearm.
*** Lesson three will be taught by a licensed attorney or a local law enforcement officer.
**NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASS ROOM!!!**
