NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation
The NRA First Steps Pistol Class was developed to give the student a hands on learning experience with one specific action type of pistol. This type of class is only open to a maximum of four students at a time and allows for excellent student to instructor ratio. This class is a minimum of three hours that is divided between the class room and shooting range. The class curriculum consists of learning the four rules of safe gun handling, proper handling of the pistol, proper terminology and definitions for each part of the pistol, types of ammunition that can be used with the pistol, shooting fundamentals, proper care and cleaning of the pistol, and how to obtain continuing development of the skills learned in this class. Each student will receive the basics of pistol shooting handbook, a brochure on the NRA's gun safety rules, a booklet that explains the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program, and a First Steps Certificate for the type of pistol you completed the course with.
