NRA First Steps Rifle Orientation
The NRA First Steps Rifle Class was developed to give the student a hands on learning experience with one specific action type of rifle. This type of class is only open to a maximum of four students at a time and allows for excellent student to instructor ratio. This class is a minimum of three hours that is divided between the class room and shooting range. Students will learn how to shoot stationary targets. The class curriculum consists of learning the four rules of safe gun handling, proper handling of the rifle, proper terminology and definitions for each part of the rifle, types of ammunition that can be used with the rifle, shooting fundamentals, proper care, storage and cleaning of the rifle, and how to obtain continuing development of the skills learned in this class. Each student will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting Handbook, a Brochure on the NRA's Gun Safety Rules, a Booklet that explains the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program, and a First Steps Certificate for the type of rifle you completed the course with.
